  • The Plan
    This is it! The official August, 2008; Proposed Green Garden Trail Plan, now called Version 1.0, for the November advisory referendum. This plan has been in development for over two years. The mission: To create a Trail Plan which will provide vision and guidance for the future of trail development to the Green Garden Township Board and the Plan Commission, developers, contractors, Township residents, and other public and private agencies. The goals are to plan for and to guide the establishment of interconnecting multi-use Township and Regional trails, as well as a private path system, throughout Green Garden Township.

  • The Advisory Referendum
    The November ballot will have a Green Garden Township advisory referendum to help the board decide whether or not to adopt the Green Garden Trail Plan. It is very important that you have an opportunity to read and understand the plan before you vote. To help answer questions you may have regarding the plan, there will be an Open House forum with subject matter experts available. Please take the time to read the plan. If you are unable to attend the Open House, please attend one of the Trail Plan Committee meetings on the 4th Monday of each month.

    The Draft CONCEPTUAL Green Garden Trail Map has been updated by Openlands. For your convenience, three sizes are provided below. If you have high speed internet, go for the Large 5MB copy. Otherwise go for one of the smaller, Medium 1MB or Small 252KB images.

    As a general rule, the Green Garden Township Trail Plan Committee meets on the Fourth Monday of each month.   Meetings are held at the Town Hall on the southwest corner of Manhattan/Monee and Center roads.   The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m.

    The goal of this committee is to prepare a comprehensive trail plan that will provide guidance to developers and Green Garden Township as the area develops.
